Veined Porcelain Room Floor

A glossy white floor with gray and gold veining runs through several rooms, from a bedroom beside a sliding door to a living area. The tile is large and reflective, and the veining flows across the joints.
What to look at
A floor like this is planned across rooms rather than room by room, so the joints line up through doorways. Flatness was checked across the whole area, and the tile was set with leveling clips to keep edges in the same plane. Where the tile meets the sliding door track, the cut is straight and the gap is filled with a flexible joint. The baseboard is set after the tile so the edge is covered.
How work like this is set
A large-format floor starts with a flat substrate. Anything over a small dip is leveled with a patching compound or ground down, and cracks are isolated with a membrane so they do not telegraph through. The tile is then set in a large-notch thinset, back-buttered, with leveling clips so adjacent edges meet without lippage.
If you want something similar
A floor job starts with what is under it. Slab moisture, cracks, dips and old adhesive all affect how the new tile should be set. Send us the room, the approximate size and the tile you have in mind and we will tell you what prep it needs. We work in Bellflower and nearby, and the matching service is Residential Tile Installation.
