How a job runs

1. First call or form

   You tell us the room and what you have in mind. We call back within one business day and ask a few plain questions: the size, the age of the house, what is on the floor or wall now.

2. Visit or photos

   We look at the room. For a bathroom that means tapping tile, probing grout and checking the base of the walls. For a floor it means a straightedge and a look at the slab or the subfloor.

3. A written scope and price

   You get a written scope: what comes out, what is repaired, what goes in and what is not included. We flag anything that could change the price.

4. Demolition and prep

   Old tile and failed backer come out. The floor is leveled, cracks are isolated and framing is repaired where needed. The substrate is checked again before anything is set.

5. Waterproofing

   In showers and tub walls, the membrane goes on and the pan is flood tested. That test needs waiting time, and we build it into the schedule.

6. Setting tile

   Layout is struck from the main sight line. Thinset is matched to the tile, and large tiles are back-buttered and held flat with leveling clips.

7. Grout, caulk and seal

   Grout goes in after the thinset cures. Corners and changes of plane get color-matched flexible sealant. Grout or stone is sealed where it needs it.

8. Final walkthrough and seal

   We walk the job with you, show you what to look at and give you a short cleaning note. Then we clean up.
