Green Glass Vertical Shower

What to look at

The curve is the hard part. Narrow vertical tiles follow it only if the joints stay narrow and the substrate behind them has been formed in a smooth arc, so every tile touches the wall along its full height. A glossy surface shows every error, which means each course was checked with a straightedge before the next went on. The niche is framed by whole tiles, and the seat slopes slightly to shed water.

How work like this is set

Rectangular and square wall tile looks simple and hides nothing. A level starting line is set off the tub or the pan, because the tub is rarely level, and the rows are laid out so the cut row at the top is not a sliver. Inside corners are left for flexible sealant, and the tile faces are checked with a straightedge as each course goes on.
